Cristina’s Story
Walking by Faith
Since June of 2016, Congregation Beth Yeshua Germany has endeavored to be a light to the military community in the Kaiserslautern area. Led by Lieutenant Colonel Cristina Moore Urrutia, the congregation seeks to provide a biblically based, Yeshua centered ministry where members of the military and the surrounding area can worship in spirit and in truth.
The military life is not an easy one. Founded on the principles of service, it involves a tremendous amount of sacrifice. Baruch HaShem, Yeshua Meshicheinu gave us the example to follow, and while it isn’t an easy road, He has promised to walk with us no matter where we may sojourn.
My journey as a Messianic believer began back in 1989 where G-d began to open my eyes to the importance of His appointed times and the beauty of Torah through a Seder demonstration at the non-denominational church that I and my family were attending. At first it was a slow process—it wasn’t until 2007 that I committed to attending a Messianic synagogue full time. It was there in San Antonio, Texas that my passionate love for the L-rd birthed a hunger for a deeper understanding of the fullness of His Word. And so, my journey as a Messianic began.
A life that desires to follow hard after the L-rd requires a tremendous amount of faith, and that means He is constantly stretching and growing us. Certainly life in the Air Force has built-in growth opportunities. From Texas to Missouri to Alabama to Japan, each time I had to move required faith that He would go before me and prepare the way, and in each location He provided a wonderful community of believers who were sold-out to the L-rd and His Word. These various assignments stretched me and taught me more about His character and the importance of community, and at each location He continued to refine the call toward ministry.
In 2014 I began taking classes at TorahResource Institute to pursue a certificate in Advanced Biblical and Religious Studies, and in late 2016 I was blessed to have been asked to join the leadership team at Aytz Chayim Messianic Synagogue in Tokyo, Japan. Now He has brought me to Germany where I am humbled to take on this leadership role. Together with an outstanding group of committed believers, by the leading of the Ruach, we desire to take this vision forward to share the gospel first preached to Avraham, that ALL nations would be blessed through the Promised Seed, Yeshua HaMashiach, to the Jew first and also to the Gentile!

Blessed be Adonai, my rock, who trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle. He shows me grace; and he is my fortress, my stronghold, in whom I find shelter, my shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues my people under me.
